Add On Modifiers Guide

Want to customize your add on's?

What are Modifiers?

Modifiers are the customizations that you can apply to your add-on's. You can create a modifier and apply that modifier to any number of add-ons. The two types of modifiers are "single-select" meaning the guest has to choose one of the options you give them, or "multi-select" meaning the guests can select an option, and they can select multiple of the options if you allow them to.

How to Create Modifiers

For add-on modifiers to correctly work, you must be in Rex's new design. In the admin dashboard, select "Add on Modifiers"

Here, you'll be able to create some customization options for any add on, we'll apply these options to the add on later. For now, create the customizations. In this example we will create pizza toppings for our pizza add on. To create, select "+ add on modifier" in the top right.

Here, you'll be able to give the modifier a name that the guest see's, for example "Select up to 3 toppings". The priority means how high this set of customizations will appear in the add on. The internal name is the name you see inside the admin dashboard to easily find the add on. And modifier type gives you the options of "single select" or "multi select"

Single Select

Single select means that your guest will have to select one of the options you provide, and they can only select one. This is good for add on's that require guests to choose between different types, or maybe different levels of an add on ($5 game card, $10 game card)

Multi Select

Multi select means that your guest can select options up to the number of choices you give them. You can set the minimum and maximum of the choices they select. For example, if the customization is "Buffet Modifier," I might want them to at LEAST pick 3 options, and up to 5. Each item adds to their total. But for a pizza add on modifier, I might set the minimum to 0 in case they don't want any add ons.

Creating the Options

Once you set the logic for the modifier, click create. Now you'll be able to create the options at the bottom.

You're able to name the option, assign a priority (how high it will appear in the list of options) and you are able to assign a price to the option. You can make the price $0 if the price is baked into the add on, or you can make the add on cost $0, and the choice your guest selects determines the price of the add on. Or, of course, the add on can have a base price and any customization options add on top of the add on price. Now that the customizations are complete, we need to assign the modifier to add ons.

Assigning Modifiers to Add Ons

Head back to add ons, you'll need to enter the add on then assign a modifier to the add on

Once inside of your add on, select the modifiers tab

And select the modifier we just created, plus any other modifiers you want applied to this package
