Enable and use early check-in
When a guest shows up ahead of schedule, early check-in lets your staff pull the whole reservation forward: checking in before the scheduled start offers to move the start time to now, keeping the full duration. Rex checks lane availability first, so you know the earlier slot actually works.
Early check-in is off by default and is enabled per venue. Without it, checking in early simply checks the guest in — the reservation stays at its scheduled time.
Turn on early check-in
Open the venue's Host tab
Go to Manage → Venues, click the venue, then open the Host tab. The Early Check In card is at the bottom of the list.
Toggle Enable Early Check In
Click Edit on the Early Check In card, switch on Enable Early Check In, and click Save changes.
Check a guest in early
Check in the reservation
In the Host App, open the reservation — from the calendar or its details view — and check the guest in before the scheduled start time. The Early Check In dialog appears.
Choose what happens to the start time
The dialog shows the scheduled time and offers to move the reservation to now. What you see depends on availability — the three cases are below.
If the reservation's assigned lane is free at the earlier time, the dialog asks whether to move the start time — the duration stays the same. Choose Move to [time] to shift the reservation, or Keep Original Time to check the guest in without changing the schedule.
If the assigned lane is occupied at the earlier time but another lane is open, the dialog names the occupied lane and lists what's Available. Move the reservation to a free lane in one tap, or choose Move Anyway to keep the original lane despite the overlap.
If nothing is free at the earlier time, the dialog says so. You can still choose Move Anyway, or Cancel and check the guest in at the scheduled time.
Moving a reservation earlier frees up its original slot — the calendar and floor view update immediately, so the rest of the team sees the real timeline.
