Set venue taxes and fees

Each venue defines a base sales tax plus any number of additional named taxes β€” as a percentage of the price or a flat amount. Defining a tax here doesn't charge it by itself: each package chooses which of the venue's taxes apply, so a bowling package can carry different taxes than a food-and-drink event.

Define your venue's taxes

1

Open the Taxes card

Go to Manage β†’ Venues, click the venue, and stay on the General tab. Click Edit on the Taxes card.

2

Set your base Sales Tax

Enter your venue's sales tax percentage in Sales Tax (%) β€” e.g. 7 for 7%.

Step 2: Set your base Sales Tax
3

Add additional taxes

Click Add Item under Additional Taxes for each extra tax or fee. Give each one a Tax Name guests will recognize, pick the Tax Type, and enter the Tax Amount.

4

Save

Click Save changes. Tax names must be unique, and amounts must be non-negative numbers.

FieldDescription
Sales Tax (%)Your venue's base tax rate, charged as a percentage of the price.
Tax NameThe label for an additional tax (e.g. "Food Tax", "City Tax").
Tax Type% charges a percentage of the price; $ charges a flat amount.
Tax AmountThe percentage or flat amount, depending on the Tax Type.

Choose which taxes each package charges

Taxes defined on the venue are a menu, not a mandate. Open a package and click its Taxes and Fees card β€” under Apply Tax you'll see a checkbox for your venue sales tax and one for each additional tax by name. Only the checked ones are charged on that package's bookings. For the full package-side walkthrough, including service fees, see Add custom fees to an activity or package.

πŸ’‘Tip

Name additional taxes the way you want guests to read them β€” separate "Food Tax" and "Liquor Tax" entries keep mixed bookings transparent, and the $ type works well for fixed per-booking fees like a facility charge.

At checkout, the selected taxes are calculated on the package price and added to the guest's total. Run a test booking after changing tax settings to confirm the totals look right.
